Berj Zavian

Berj, a second-generation jeweler, has been in the jewelry business since 1955. His family firm, where Berj works at the bench as a master jeweler, is now in its third generation and has celebrated its 80+ years in business.  Berj's father, Carney and his Uncle, Heig, started the business in 1927.

Berj appears on the highly rated PBS show, The Antique RoadShow, as a jewelry appraiser since the launch of the show.

Berj has served as the senior appraiser in Doyle New York's Jewelry Department. He was affiliated with Doyle from 1974 - 2009 as a specialist in and appraiser of ancient, Renaissance, antique, period and contemporary jewelry and gems, watches, and coins. His responsibilities included appraising, cataloging, and authenticating jewelry, fine watches, and objets de vertu.  His son, Kevin, has taken over the department duties, as of 2010.

Berj received his B.S. degree from Pace College and his Certificate of Design from the Mechanics Institute of Technology. He serves as a consultant specialist to numerous museums throughout the country.


Kevin Zavian

Kevin is a third generation jeweler following in the footsteps of his father, Berj and grandfather, Carney. He has worked the bench at the family shop since 1979. Now a master jeweler, he is repairing and restoring ancient, Renaissance, antique, period, and contemporary jewelry and watches.

Kevin's duties as the jewelry appraiser at Doyle New York include the duties and responsibilities his father, Berj, did for over 35 years.

Kevin appears on the highly rated PBS show, The Antique RoadShow, as a jewelry/watch appraiser.

Kevin received his B.S. degree in marketing and business from West Virginia University. He is a member of the Appraisal Association of America and the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors.

Robin Zavian

Robin is a third generation jeweler following in the footsteps of her father, Berj and grandfather, Carney.  She has worked the bench at the family shop since 1985.  Now a master jeweler, she is restoring ancient antiques, creating contemporary pieces and is a expert stringer of pearls, gems and the like.  She repairs pocketbooks, beaded apparel and similar delicate beaded works.

Robin received her degree in horticulture and owned a floral shop. She graduated from The Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York, with a focus on window design.  Decorating MACY's holiday windows in NY City was one of her more popular gigs.
